Spot boars, deer and other wild animals. The summer on de Sallandse Heuvelrug reaches its peak in August/September: a huge purple blanket of flowering heather covers the undulating meadows. A magical sight. Particularly spectacular at the end of the day, when the sun is low in the sky and the shadows of juniper shrubs create depth and perspective. Bring a blanket and some snacks.
