Nature conservation: do your bit

Help nature by being active. You can help without extra effort if you take part in an event at the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. Since 2015, the cooperative partners have been working with the care for nature system ‘S(up)port for Nature’. Those who participate in (sports) events contribute one extra euro - in addition to the regular registration fee - for the conservation of nature.

S(up)port for Nature

The foundation “Samen voor het Nationaal Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug" ensures that this money is spent on the Sallandse Heuvelrug. All revenue is spent on projects that strengthen the nature and the enjoyment of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. For example, special all-terrain wheelchairs were purchased in 2016 to make sure those with mobility issues could also enjoy the mountain, a butterfly corridor was created, and an educational programme for schools was set up by the Centre for Nature and Environment Education. The care for nature system ‘S(up)port for Nature’ is aimed at (continued) environmentally friendly organisation of events, with more clarity, enhanced chances of approval (after all, there is a great focus on the prevention of damage and nuisance), and more uniformity (which conditions and guidelines apply). Would you like to organise an event that contributes to this objective? View the leaflet or make a request now using this form.
